Customer Question

I have a p106 code. Are my catalytic converter in need of replacement? The code does not give a definite reason that it is a CAT problem. My question is do I get repairs on my CATS of the manifold?
JA: Has the vehicle been "scoped out"?
Customer: Yes.The mechanic has never seen a p106 code so He says he can't give me a definite .answer. The car does show the symptoms of CAT related problems, but there may be something else he says.
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercury?
Customer: 2007 Premier
JA: Are you fixing your Premier yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I did put Cataclean in the tank and ran well for a short time. The next day it was the same problem.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Will replacing the CATS, my 2007 mercury has 3, get my car running again even tho the code is not definite.
