When first driving my brakes make a Grindy noice it's almost

Customer Question

When first driving my brakes make a Grindy noice it's almost like the brakes pump back at you when stopping. About 5 to 10 min the abs light will kick on and all problems with the breaks stop??
JA: Is it just the ABS light? Or is the brake system warning light on, too?
Customer: It's the abs light and then it says to service break system
JA: What is the model of your '10 Mercury?
Customer: 2007 Mercury mariner
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I'm just trying to see what going on and have a friend fix it
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No don't believe so

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Justanswer. Thank you for your question and I will assist you with your concern.

The problem you are having is likely a problem with ABS system . The ABS light comes on when the system sees a fault and when this happens the system will set and store a fault code and or codes. In order to know what is failing you need to start first with having the system scanned. If you can get the scan done and post back with the results I can help you determine the cause.

Ok also there is one more thing sometimes when driving the steering wheel will jerk you to the right or left and then fix its self any idea on this

This issue is not likely related but if its an electronic concern it may very likely set a fault code as well. Lets get the scan done and see what comes up and we can work from there.
