JA: What are all the symptoms you've noticed (e.g. noises, leaks, flashing lights, error codes)?
Customer: Used to, the doors locked after the engine started. Suddenly they are now locking when the key is turned on. This is the low-end model.
JA: How many miles are on the car? Has this ever happened before?
Customer: 172K no
JA: Are you fixing your Grand Marquis yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, just noticed it today

Doubt if it is related, but the car started, ran rough, then died this morning. It would restart, and then finally run okay. Codes were lean burn both banks. Thinking fuel pump or filter. I was checking this out when I noticed the change in the door lock sequence.
Still running rough, going to check fuel pressure & volume.
Been working on cars for 40+ years, but these new computer-controlled things mess me up.
