Customer Question

I have a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. I was driving when the car just cut off. I thought it was the battery so I replaced that and still nothing. I've since then replaced the coils and spark plug. I've had the starter checked and the fuel pump and all is fine. However, it still will not turn over. What would the cause be and how can I get it up and running again?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

My name is Vlad.

Does the starter motor engage and crank the engine?

So engine is turned over by the starter motor but does not fire up, correct?

You mentioned the fuel pump has been checked, how much fuel pressure do you get? or have you tried to start it with some starting fluid to eliminate the fuel system issue?
