Headlight switch with auto on/off system built into switch.

Customer Question

Headlight switch with auto on/off system built into switch. As switch heats up, lights go out totally. Regular switch without auto on/off doesn't work any lights at all. The switch with auto on/off as compared to the regular switch only has one extra connection which seems to be the connection that is getting hot and causing the lights to go out until switch cools. Any way to bypass the auto in/off system and use a regular headlight switch.

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

This is a common issue caused by a failing headlamp switch but coudl be a wiring issue or possibly high current draw from aftermarket bulbs. Has the switch been replaced?
