Hello and thanks for using JustAnswer.I will try my best to help you with your question.
Are you looking to remove the silencer or repair it?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I've removed it, and put a loop in the plug where the silencer plugs into. But now it won't start. Sounds like starter is working but no fuel.I think it has a pats system, how do I bypass? Or what do you think
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
You should remove the silencer completely. It should be spliced into the wiring for the ignition switch. The PATS system cannot be bypassed.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
So what is the cheapest way to get it fixed, or what else can it be
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Can you send me the fuse box diagram for 99 mercury mystique
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
The cost is hard to determine without knowing what is causing the problem.
Is the check engine light coming on when the key is turned on and does it go out when the engine is cranking over?
Have you checked for any trouble codes in the PCM (Engine Computer)?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Check engine light is on now, but never had any problems with the car until wires came out of the silencer harness
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
That was two days ago
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
If the wires came out of the silencer harness, I would have the silencer completely removed the vehicle put back to stock and then see if the vehicle starts.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I've removed the silencer completely.I was wondering if a relay, or fuse may have failed. Or anything else.
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
Did you splice the factory wiring back together?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes with a butt connector
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
Does the RED THEFT light flash rapidly when you try to start the vehicle?
You should check for trouble codes in the PCM.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Don't see any theft light
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
There should be a red indicator near the radio that will flash once every 3 seconds when the key is out.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No flashING light
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
Check fuse #34 in the dash fuse box and fuse #9 in the engine bay fuse box.

Does the check engine light come on when the key is turned to on?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes, now I hear a buzz near or under batter
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
Check the relays in the engine bay fuse box.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Where and which
Expert:  A. Penland replied 2 years ago.
Remove the cover of the fuse box and listen for the buzzing noise. You can put your hand on the relays and feel them buzzing if it is the relays.
