Trying to manually retract the rear calipers on my 2016

Customer Question
Trying to manually retract...

Trying to manually retract the rear calipers on my 2016 Mercedes s600 and I get the message "condition not fulfilled". About ready to have them come and get this one at the Mercedes place. As a last step, any idea how to get the caliper to retract enough to fit the new pads inside?

To do this you need to enter the service menu on the dash: first turn the key to position 1 then press the right telephone accept button on the steering wheel then press & hold the OK button on the steering wheeel & keep both buttons pressed for around 5 seconds. The workshop menu should appear - scroll down to "brake pad change" using the arrow buttons on the steering wheel & press ok. A confirmation should appear to "move to assembly position" confirm again using OK. Do not press the brake pedal during this procedure & a message should appear letting you know the procedure is complete & the motor for the parking brake is wound back. Turn the ignition off & remove the key.

Rather than getting the verbiage you are referring to when trying to" move to assembly position, and thus release the pressure on the pads, "condition not fulfilled". What does this mean and how is it remedied? Do I force the position into the caliper
?
