Have Mercedes Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi John, my name is***** is nothing you can do to get the check engine light to turn off. The only thing that you can do is check the gas cap to be sure it is tight. If the cap is loose it will cause the light to turn on. If a loose cap is the problem the light will turn off after a few days. Otherwise you will need to get the car connected to a Mercedes tester to read and erase the fault codes in the engine control module. Your local Autozone store can read the fault codes and they may even erase them for you. The check engine light can come on for any number of emissions related items. Loading the car with cargo may have indirectly caused the problem.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Just checking in. Do you need any more help with this?
