hi this is dave and im here to help with your question. Do you feel you have too much air in your tires?

Expert:  david carrier replied 9 months ago.

The tpms (tire pressure monitor system) is programed to recognize the pressure in you tires from sensors mounted in the wheels. There is a sticker on the inside of the door that tells you what the manufacture recommends for pressure. If the pressure it over inflated or under-inflated there is a light that will com on the dash to warn you there is a problem.

Is the warning sign/sound different for under or over inflation?
Expert:  david carrier replied 9 months ago.

Often on mercedes there is a different pressure used in the front than in the rear for comfort. You can bring your car to your local mercedes dealer to verify pressures in your tires to make sure they are accurate

No the symbol is the same so it is always a good idea as soon as the light comes on to check the pressures in all the tires.

Also the number that it shows inside the door is for a cold tire. as you drive the pressure will increase as the tire gets hot from friction. it will generally be 2-3 psi higher when the tire has been driven on

I am asking specifically about the warning on the dash on the Mercedes if tire is over or under inflated.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
But, you are not asking my specific question
Expert:  david carrier replied 9 months ago.

No mercedes will not specify by the light if it is over or under. Have you scrolled through to see what the pressure readings are showing on the dash. i am trying to answer your question fully and explaining how the system works. You get the same notification if its over or under inflated
