Customer Question

I have a 1997 Mercedes E320. Each time I let it sit for 6 months or more I have to buy a new fuel pump. Sometimes the car runs fine and then it acts as if its not getting fuel and after a minute or so of skipping and missing it begins to run good and smooth again. Any Idea what my problem is?

Hi im kevin the most likely cause is that fuel nowadays has a shelf life and if left for more than a couple or months will go off and it leaves a varnish type coating on the insude of pump which will eventally cause it to fail
