Customer Question

Stop at bank got back in car and it won't start
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: I haven't but lately it's been kind of hesitant starting sometime. I see a battery indication light on
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercedes?
Customer: 2005 sl 500
JA: Are you fixing your SL yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing just yet called a friend to get a jump
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No that's it

1-you need to check the alternator make sure it is charging the battery while running

2-I would suggest taking the battery out instead of jumping ,then take a to local parts store and see if ithere battery is good or not

3- if you get it running with another battery, put a voltmeter and check for 14 plus volts while running

Always disconnect the ground cables (1) at both batteries. NOTE: First at the on-board electrical system battery (G1) in the trunk then at the starter battery in the engine compartment.
