I cannot use the Navigation on my Comand, 2007 CLK 350, I

Customer Question

I cannot use the Navigation on my Comand
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercedes?
Customer: 2007 CLK 350
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have tried resetting the DVD drive through the secret menu, bought a new MAPS upgrade disc to install new software, could not successfully do that either.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, that is all

I should add that I did have one successful update to the navigation about 1 year ago. Ever since then the DVD and NAV renders nothing and instead get an Error Message saying NO DVD IN DRIVE or CANNOT READ DVD.

ok so this is not a easy one as far as what you are going to want to hear,

so if there is in fact a dvd inserted yet when pressing the nav button the screen displays no dvd in drive or cannot read, then the issue is inside the player, you only have 2 options, replace it or send it out to an electronics company to repair. Lou P.
