Customer Question

Have a 2008 Dodge Mercedes 3.0 Diesel ambulance with approx. 180K miles. It would lose power when accelerating. If you turn engine off and wait a minute it would start (and maybe reset) and it would run ok. It has recently had a new ECM and no engine lights are on. Also had new injectors installed. Dealer can't figure out whats wrong.
Could it be something in the fuel system? We do use an additive to counter the ethanol in the fuel. John

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are several things that can cause a lack of power and it will definitely take some testing at the time the problem is happening to know exactly what is going on. You could have a fuel delivery issue, a bad turbo actuator, a boost leak, there are several things that could be causing the engine controller to intentionally derate power such as an electronic throttle control issue.

Have you checked for fault codes?
