I have a 2000 e320 wagon. Ac stopped working and ec light

Customer Question

I have a 2000 e320 wagon. Ac stopped working and ec light stayed on. Got the ec light to turn off by clearing the codes but the compressor is not pulling in with the ec off.
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: The economy light.
JA: Are you fixing your E320 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, cleared the codes so i could get the economy to turn off so i can charge the ac but the compressor is not pulling in.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that i can think of.

Hi, my name is***** clutch won't pull in until you get enough refrigerant in the system to close the low pressure switch. Normally the system is charged with a charging station so this is never an issue. If you are charging the system with cans you will need to jump power to the compressor clutch from a 12V source in order to charge the system.
