2005 Sprinter. ESP puts on the brakes and cuts engine power

Customer Question

2005 Sprinter. ESP puts on the brakes and cuts engine power predominantly on left turns at about 25 - 30 mph if the road dips to the left. Level road with van tilting to the right on a left turn will not trigger this. Almost never on right turns.
JA: How many miles are on the car? Are these the orignial brakes?
Customer: 140K, 60 K after 4x4 conversion. New brakes.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Steering sensor replaced at time of 4x4 conversion. Local mechanic is at a loss.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Front end is F250, 2008.

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

The problem involves the yaw sensor signal in some way but this may not be something you'll able to prevent from happening. The system is designed to operate on the vehicle as it was designed. It doesn't have a way of knowing if suspension has been modified and if the module sees the vehicle acting in a way that it should not in stock form then ESP can come on.

Did this problem start as a result of the suspension modifications or is it a new problem?
