I had a clogged drain. Now rear lights are staying on, fuel

Customer Question

I had a clogged drain. Now rear lights are staying on, fuel gauge has stopped working. I unplugged drain. Will it dry out and be ok, or are electrical problems more likely?
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: tail, reverse, and brake
JA: What is the model/year of your Mercedes?
Customer: 05 S430
JA: What year is your Mercedes?
Customer: 2005
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes. I've only unplugged the drain so far
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: no--just want to know if it is dryed out--what are the chances it will be ok, versus damaged from having been moist

Hello, the REAR SAM control module is most likely flooded. you will need to either replace this module or try and clean it. it is attached to the fuse box under the right rear seat. here is some info to access the module.

hope this helps.
