350 R Mercedes elevation shows malfunction. Pump recently

Customer Question

350 R Mercedes elevation shows malfunction. Pump recently replaced.worked fin a few days but on one occasion kept running, but cut off on its own when parked. Took to mechanic who did not repair but said level ok and must have a leak or something else wrong. Ok for few days then level dropped one inch @all wheels and will not rise. The pump we replaced ran about $1500 and I do not want to ruin it. What is best & less expense to do.?

It is very common for the airmatic pump relay to stick and damage the pump. It should always be replaced with the pump because it can cause all sorts of problems and warning messages. It is also common for the the level sensor arms, at each wheel, to get corroded or seized so those should be checked and lubricated.
