I have a 1997 Mercedes E 320. The engine will start

Customer Question

I have a 1997 Mercedes E 320. The engine will start sometimes and run smooth for a few minutes, then die. I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, and cleaned the fuel tank. I can't find the fuel pump relay or any other reason for the problem, please help.

Hi, the fuel pump relay is part of the K40 relay module located in the module box under the hood on the passenger side. The K40 relay module is the module in the box with the fuses on it. Have you checked the fuel pressure or checked the pump to see if it is working when the car won't start?
