my e class seems to have fault on no 1 plug after driving for short distance the engine light comes on and it seems like its not fireing on that cylinder when you stop and turn off the car and start it up again it seems to run fine but engine light is still on

Hi Joe, a misfire on one cylinder under load is usually caused by a bad valve or a bad valve spring. It can also be caused by a bad fuel injector so you should at least swap the injectors to rule it out. More than likely this will turn out to be a problem with the valves or valve springs.
