I have a 2006 Clk 500 it was driving perfectly fine up

Hello I have a 2006 Clk 500 it was driving perfectly fine up until yesterday it sat over the weekend without being moved but the gas tank was in E tried to drive it last night to gas station and it only made it 1 block b4 cutting off it only starts using starter fluid and it cuts back of could it be my fuel pump is dirty from driving it previous times with gas tank in E?

Hi I'm Kevin I suspect fuel pump has failed if you listen in back of car when ignition turned on do you hear fuel pump running? It is located below rear bench seat if you remove lower part of seat below thee is an inspection hole can you feel pump funning from under here?
