After slowing to a slow speed (not breaking) accelerator non responsive for several
seconds then car surges.

No other problems . . . just at very slow speeds beyond time for transmission to
down shift.

Hi,

There are many possibilities & would first recommend a check on a diagnostic tool to see if there are any fault codes stored that may narrow your problems down.

The most common cause of these symptoms would be a faulty MAF sensor - this will often store codes with the MAF itself, O2 sensor fault codes, misfire codes and/or fuel adaptation codes.

There are of course many other possibilities - problems with the fuel pressure from a bad fuel filter for example. If no fault codes are stored then I would next recommend a fuel pressure test.

The MAF is certainly the most common problem however.

Best regards, Paul
