Hi, what kind of problem are you having setting the timing?
taking the slack out
Is the chain to loose or too tight right now?
Do you have the timing chain tensioner installed?
tensioner is not installed at this time
Well you will need to install the tensioner to get the slack out.
we installed the tensioner
and then what happened?
turned engine over by hand does not come back to right setting
Is it only off by a tooth or so?
Have you tried to just move it the one tooth and recheck it?
not yet tell me the best way to procced
You can probably just wedge a block of wood between the timing chain to keep the tensioner from extending when you loosen the cam gear then remove the gear, walk it over one tooth and reinstall it.
Otherwise you'll need to remove your tensioner again.
i take it remove cam gear do i walk it clock wise or counter clock
You need to walk it whichever way it needs to go.
It depends an where your mark is.
Put it back on TDC and look at your mark.
do i need to hold crank pully so it does not move win i remove wedge block fromtiming chain
The wedge is just to keep the tensioner from extending.
