Hi, if the lock is closed and hitting against the striker you will need to try and manually open the lock. I would try using the key in the trunk lock cylinder and rotate it counterclockwise and then try pushing the trunk release button. You may need to use a screwdriver to assist the opening of the lock.
You might have to manually rotate the lock to the open position while pressing in on the button.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well enough. Let me know if you need more help with it.
That is exactly the case. I'm going to try now.
Ok, let me know how you make out.
Hi, I can't turn the key in either direction and neither can I move the boot catch with the screwdriver. I have tried to move the catch with the boot release pressed and un pressed and with the central locking off and also on.
Are you using a valet key?
Or is yours the smart key with the small blade?
I am using the pull-out key from the remote/ignition control
Ok, most likely your tumbler is stuck from lack of use.
And it's not easy turning that little key.
Can you use a pair of pliers to help it turn. Carefully!!
You don't want to break it.
Or better yet, can you tell me if the slot is vertical or horizontal?
OK I'll go and give it a try with pliers - carefully
Ok, don't force it. You want to turn the key to about the 10 o'clock position.
Then push in while holding it in that position.
Brilliant thanks a lot. Boot is now shut.
