What is your secret to stopping him being physically aggressive at home?

The teachers should not be grabbing him - they should just ignore him and he will come back.

They also shouldn’t chase him. The first seen a child is going to do is to run in the opposite direction!

You see if he is not being physically aggressive at home, but he has shown physical aggression twice at school. I think you are someone should ever talk to the principal.

You should tell the principal that the teachers need to talk to him softly because it works.

I’m also wondering who is prescribing medication for your grandson? is it a general medical physician ?

1. A really helpful thing to do would be to visit your doctor with your grandson (a paediatrician or child psychiatrist would be much better).

Ask the doctor to write down 4 or 5 strategies to manage your grandson’s behaviour, and put it in the letter  and then you can give a copy of that letter to the school.

That way, the school is getting a letter from the doctor, telling them how to treat your grandchild.

2.  I was also going to recommend that you ask your doctor to refer your grandson to a paediatrician or child psychiatrist, if you haven’t already done so.

That way, you could get a medical review done by a specialist - to get your grandson’s medication right.

However, I’m very glad to hear about your new mental health doctor appointment on Friday.

Definitely tell that new doctor about your son’s situation and ask the doctor for advice about the school.

A letter from the mental health doctor might put greater pressure on the school to do the right thing

In addition, that doctor will probably help enormously, with your grandson’s medication, which might help to settle his behaviour.

To be honest, it sounds like your grandson has not been receiving the correct medication.

Most children with ADHD experience symptom improvement while taking a stimulant medication such as methylphenidate (Ritalin, Metadate, Concerta, Quillivant XR, Jornay PM, Adhansia XR, etc.) or amphetamine (Adderall, Dexedrine, Dynavel XR, Adzenys XR.

The medications, your son received previously, however, are used to treat other conditions

I strongly recommend that you ask your medical doctor to refer you to a child psychiatrist

To help you and your grandchild further, here are five key tips on how to curb the aggression of a child with ADHD.

Cut down on electronics.

Teach your child compromise and negotiation skills.

Help your child express his or her emotions positively.

Show your child stability and structure.
