VerifiedHello, I'm Rafael, an integrative psychotherapist. I'm here to answer your question or to support you via a private consultation. I'm reviewing your post now and I am sorry to know that you suffer from bipolar disorder, sleep problems and use psychotropic drugs.
If you usually sleep for those eight to nine hours, changing your schedule in twenty or thirty minutes would not significantly affect your sleep, unless you have a high sensitivity to develop sleep problems because of the mental disorder affecting you and the psychotropic drugs you use.
Generally, the more you adjust your sleeping habits to your circadian rhythm, the better your sleep would be. This means to go to sleep as easily as there is no further daylight or around 8 pm, and wake up when the daylight starts or around 4 or 5 am. Then if you go to sleep around eight pm, and wake up around four or five am, you would be supporting your brain and body to develop a quality sleep at night.
