How does someone slow their brain at night so they can sleep?

Doctor's Assistant: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?

No medications. I’ll drink a beer sometimes and they helps but I hate beer so it’s just not even worth it usually?

Doctor's Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the psychologist should know?

My medical history is pretty bland. No known allergies I pretty much take Advil for everything

1. I drink a beer every once in a while outside of drinking one to help got to sleep but not often.
2. I would say sometimes my mind races but other times I’m just laying there not able to sleep.
3. My moods vary. I’m never really sociable but some days more so than not. I’m very reserved I’d say. My job isn’t stressful. I’ve had some personal family loses in the past few years but it’s nothing I really dwell on.

Well, you need to try some herbal or natural supplement/s to slow down your brain and to induce sleep at night which will be restful and refreshing. Some good herbal remedies that you can try are -- valerian root extract , chamomile tea , sprinkling of lavender oil on pillow and bedsheet , any one or two of them in combination can be used to bring sleep at night.
In addition to these herbal remedies for sleep induction and bringing tranquility to mind at night time, you should practice sleep hygiene daily. Sleep hygiene consists of following tips -- 1) avoiding alcoholic beverages or caffeine or tea in the evening or night, instead taking a glass of hot milk at bedtime, 2) avoid heavy, fried and oily foods That night or late evenings such as potato chips, etc, 3) avoid excessive sugary sweet food items in the night or late evenings since excessive sites at night causes hyperactivity of brain, 4) do regular exercise, 5) turn off the, radio, music , internet, phone etc at least one hour before sleep since these items cause activation of Brian activity, 6) drink adequate water, 7) have a set sleep in and wake up routine in place.
Kindly do as much as a d above judiciously and your sound sleep will return and excessive brain activity will go away.
