Honestly, maybe in your case medication is not the answer. Maybe instead a psychiatrist you need to see a therapist. I would recommend you try EMDR. That is Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing. This is the gold standard in treating PTSD. It would definitely be worth a try.The big deal is don’t tackle this on your own. The harder you fight the anxiety the bigger it gets. Here are some things to try:

4. Involve yourself in worthwhile activity. Idle time breads negative thoughts.

5. Try a weighted blanket. These are rather expensive but worthy of the investment.6. Surround yourself with positive people.7. Find somebody to be your sounding board, not to drown with you sorrows, just to listen to you

At the moment I'm not on any meds. Its hard to find a phychiatrist that takes Medicaid. The meds that do me the best are 40mgs of Prozac a day and 3 mgs of klonopin a day. But at the moment I have none.
