I’ve been taking 40mg for 7 weeks but still awaiting improvement of both anxiety and depression. Thus far I’m noticing limited results.

Excellent. As I am sure you know, there isn't a one size fits all for medications...some people respond immediately and others take longer. The same is also true for side effects...some people experience nothing and others experience more. Generally people respond in 3-4 weeks but, yes, in some cases it could take longer. I am sorry that you are still suffering and hope you will place a call to your Psychiatrist to let them know you are not receiving the full desired benefits and are still experiencing some anxiety and depression. At that point, they can decide if you need further evaluation to make sure you are getting what you need. I imagine there have been small improvements? If so, then we can hope that over time, things continue to ease a bit.

I can go as far as to say it could have resulted in saving my sons life and our entire family now knows what bipolar is and how to assist and understand my most wonderful son, brother and friend to all who loves him dearly. Thank you very much

I thank-you so much! It really helped to have this information and confirmation. We will watch her carefully and get her in for the examination and US right away if things do not improve. God bless you as well!

Suggested diagnosis was what I hoped and will take this info to my doctor's appointment next week.
I feel better already! Thank you.

ElanorTracy, CA

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

JulieLockesburg, AR

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.

John and StefanieTucson, AZ

I have been dealing with an extremely serious health crisis for over three years, and one your physicians asked me more questions, gave me more answers and encouragement than a dozen different doctors who have been treating me!!

I went through a major depressive episode after an abortion
I went through a major depressive episode after an abortion which resulted in several suicide attempts last year in June. Since then I've recovered and I'm doing well. I'm not on any current mendications and I'm still improving in my mood. Anxiety is stabilised and under control. However I want to return to my nursing school. My psychiatrist is hesitant to say I'm fit to return back to nursing as she has only seen me once. How do I go about getting a medical clearance? How do I prove that I'm mentally stable? It is important for me to continue my degree, as this is the first major step for me to take to regain some of my life back. … read more
