I have searched the internet high and low and I am shocked I cannot find a phobia related to this..
It may be multiple things, but I would describe it as a fear of unnatural movements by a human-ish being; twitching, crawling, bizarre contortionist stuff and fast movements associated with the latter. What is this? I would think more people would relate. I have looked into the uncanny valley and such but it's not quite the same. As a reference, I believe it begins with the exorcist spider walk, to the ring, the grudge, the crazy doctor in house on haunted hill. The faster they move the more terrifying. What gives?

When you describe a phobia, could you be more specific as to what kind of reaction you get when you witness such movements?

Thank you to the Physician who answered my question today. The answer was far more informative than what I got from the Physicians I saw in person for my problem.

JulieLockesburg, AR

You have been more help than you know. I seriously don't know what my sisters situation would be today if you had not gone above and beyond just answering my questions.

John and StefanieTucson, AZ

I have been dealing with an extremely serious health crisis for over three years, and one your physicians asked me more questions, gave me more answers and encouragement than a dozen different doctors who have been treating me!!

It's a story. It all began in December of 2015. I feel that
It all began in December of 2015. I feel that before that time, I was functioning quite well for 76 years old. I was socializing, going to meetings, driving a car, sleeping during the night (except getting up once a night sometimes for a bathroom stop). Then we got a call no parent wants to receive mid-December 2015 that our adult son had died in an accident where he was working on machinery. Supposedly it was instant which gives us some peace that he didn't suffer as he was not found for quite awhile. I was upset as any mother would be and of course distracted and in a stage of disbelief, I guess. But then I felt physically ok considering. At his memorial service, I was not feeling depressed and was friendly to everyone who was there. I felt like my old self - walking ok etc. - thinking ok - functioning pretty well as far as my normal daily life even though, of course, it was a tough time. I think it would be odd not to be affected by this situation. Although our son was 54, obviously we wished had many more years. Anyway, as the weeks went by, I continued keeping the house straightened up and trying to feel less sad, but I was not severely upset, just normal, I would say. But around two weeks after his passing, I slowly began to lose some sleep. I had trouble falling asleep and would try various mild things around the house that are calming like Chamomile tea, but it didn't help. This went on for about 2 more weeks, and the less I slept, the more weird I felt. I think that is normal. I became very tired from a full night's sleep. Eventually a relative called my doctor as I was clearly getting a little overtired from lack of a full night's sleep and unfortunately for me, the doctor prescribed a severely strong sleeping pill, Ambien. It knocks a person out literally within 10 minutes. I don't consider it a true sleep, more like anesthesia. When I woke up the next day, I could not think very well at all, could barely figure out how to make a couple of eggs for me, something I had done for probably more than 55 years. I also ended up suddenly with uncontrollable crying. The insert for the medications had a warning indicating it should not be used for anyone depressed as it is a Central Nervous System depressant. I felt like I had a hangover all day after the night of that induced 'sleep'. I called my doctor and told him the sleeping pill was making me really depressed, more than just grief. So he prescribed a mild anti-depressant which did nothing. I eventually just tried things one can get in a drug store. Mild sleeping aids but they only made me groggy. Eventually after 3 months of insomnia, I researched online 'food that makes us sleepy'. I tried it and I immediately regained my sleep pattern. It included things like oatmeal, bananas, almonds, milk. I never went back to any kind of medications after that time. Then it was found that I had lung cancer - 'only' stage 1 although I am sure it was growing for years, not overnight. In the meantime, I was crying a lot and tired all day even though I had been sleeping all night now. In other words, even though I slept all night, I was not refreshed in the morning. By the way, I don't smoke or ever drink any alcohol. My doctor was concerned about the way I was crying but also wanted me to pursue the cancer situation. I decided to concentrate on the cancer situation and eventually ended up with radiation for that. Supposedly, it had not spread and not become worse. The oncologists did not think my on and off crying was related to the cancer or radiation, but was probably some type of fatigue or depression. After the radiation was done, my oncologist suggested I see a neurologit because I was having so much trouble walking as my legs were hurting and I was very tired. They tested me for anemia, low thyroid, inflammation, diabetes, and a few other things in a blood test and all was normal. Then the neurologist gave me a nerve and muscle tests (quite extensive … read more
