Hello from JustAnswer.

This is actually a very low dose of the Risperdal. For most indications, doses of 1-6 mg per day are the usual dose range, and in certain cases, dose up to 16 mg per day may be used. Using 0.25 mg per day is a very low dose. Consequently, the current dosing recommendation would be that the drug does not need to be tapered on such a low dose. It would be OK to simply stop the drug.

Of course, when stopping any drug, there should be consideration about whatever condition was the original reason for starting the drug, and a different medicine may be needed. But from the perspective of stopping the Risperdal, it would be OK to simply stop taking the drug when currently taking 0.25 mg per day.
