Customer Question

Today, I received the results from my full psychological evaluation, and I was diagnosed with ADHD. Along with a full ADHD evaluation, I took the WAIS-IV and scored a 111, which is concerning to me because throughout my entire life (I am 22) I have considered myself to be pretty intelligent. Here is the full list of my scores including the subtest scores:
Verbal Comprehension Subtests
Similarities: 10
Vocabulary: 15
Information: 15
Verbal Comprehension Index: 118
Perceptual Reasoning Subtests
Block design: 8
Matrix Reasoning: 18
Visual Puzzles: 13
Perceptual Reasoning Index: 117
Working Memory Subtests
Digit Span: 10
Arithmetic: 11
Working Memory Index: 102
Processing Speed Subtests
Symbol Search: 9
Coding: 8
Processing Speed Index: 92
I feel like my verbal comprehension index is a good indicator of my abilities, because I have always considered verbal reasoning to be a weakness. I have always been a good problem solver (my engineering classmates always ask me for help on HW and I have gotten straight As in all of my engineering classes at a top 10 engineering school).
Could you please interpret my scores, taking into consideration I have severe ADHD? Any explanation as to why both my working memory and processing speed is low, causing my full IQ score to plummet to a 111? Could you shine some light on why there is such a high variance in my perceptual reasoning subtests?

your FSIQ score is above 100 and above average.

scores of 115 - 129 categorizes into Above Average/Bright category.

you scored lowest on processing speeds and symbol searching and coding and block design.

your ADHD could be affecting your brain and how it processes spacial information and pattern information.

having your ADHD treated could help your thinking and spacial and pattern information processing.
