I have been diagnosed with ADHD and depression and have had a hard time going back to when I was a child actually. I have a hard time getting to work and am often late. I get bored also so easily it's hard for me to sit still. Some days I am great though but there are many others when I am either feeling like I just want to be doing my own thing and can't focus on the task in front of me. I am also impulsive sometimes and make bad decisions.

Thanks for the valuable inputs.

Well from your details it somehow appears that perhaps you need to get yourself re-evaluated because your symptoms / clinical features such as impulsivity , poor decision making, frequent distraction from task at hand, mood fluctuation between episodes of low / boring mood and episodes of high or happy mood , restlessness and inability to complete work at hand, all of these can very well be justified by an underlying diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder.

You see sometimes one may confuse ADHD with bipolar mood disorder , besides , your drug regime for ADHD still has not been able to control your ADHD symptoms which in itself raises suspicion about the validity of your current diagnosis of depression with ADHD and more importantly you should know the fact that many times a previous diagnosis of Depression later on gets converted into Bipolar disorder with the development of Manic / hypomanic episodes.

Kindly see the link below for more information about Bipolar disorder..

So you see one reason that could explain your inability of keeping jobs and easy distractibility despite being on drug regime for quite some time now is the fact that you possibly have a different diagnosis namely Bipolar disorder than the current one of Depression with ADHD, so in order to get your symptoms controlled and to make you functional once again there is a need for you to first get yourself re-evaluated for Bipolar disorder and upon confirmation of this diagnosis your current drug regime needs to be revised with introduction of a mood stabilizer drug like Depakote / Depakene , continuation of abilify but withdrawal of intuniv and Adderall, since these two drugs used for adhd are known to worsen bipolar symptoms or even precipitate manic/ hypomanic episodes.

So all in all there possibly exists a reason behind your symptoms and functional impairment and that is mis-diagnosis of your underlying condition , so kindly please do the needful revaluation from a psychiatrist and once the bipolar diagnosis is confirmed your drug regime will be revised which will bring about full control over your symptoms thereby making you fully functional and efficient in your job as other people.

I hope this helps.

Wish you all the best.
