Customer Question

daughter who is 17 years old, has been diagnosed with severe OCD and high anxiety
She sees pictures - swapping bodies - one persons body merges into another person
she has to visualise her child hood picture correctly before she can do anything
she is eating clothes, constantly putting clothes in her mouth, and screaming loudly
she is urinating and passing faeces in her room
she was on aripripazole for a while but it had side effect of muscle pain in leg. Although this improved the OCD symptoms, the pain in legs was too much.
She is currently on Fluxotene 40 mg and Quietanine 100mg. No improvement.
We are trying acupuncture but no improvement.
Several months now with these symptoms.
Condition is deteriorating fast. What do you advise?

Dear Dr Thomas,
Some additional information to help you.Shavana is currently seeing a psychiatrist.
She also experiences difficulties with learning, concentration and communication. Shavana additionally has coeliac disease which impacts on her health.
Despite being born in the UK, she speaks fluent URDU. Her symptoms appear more severe when she is the UK, rather than when in Pakistan.
At 12 years she moved to secondary school and suffered intense bullying. She was expelled from school for over a year as the school could not meet her special educational needs.
Please let me know if you need additional information. We look forward to your response.I am also attaching reports from 2 psychiatrists and her last statement of special educational needs.Best wishesSalah

There is more than OCD and anxiety and learning difficulties here. You are also describing psychotic features...which can be from skizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, profound depression and perhaps aggravated by PTSD. I would suggest a second psychiatric consultation at this point..... More than one Expert should take a look at this in person. OK. If you have further questions or details, use reply to expert. Other wise please choose a 3, 4 or 5 rating [smiley face or accept], But, still come back if you need to…think of something later, etc. Bonuses are appreciated. Your satisfaction is my goal, along with the best information. Remember, answers do not substitute for a doctor’s visit. For future questions ask for me I the title or request me at this link
