I have a nephew that live in fa. He bi polo &ski o. His mother can not get any help. she call the police .they pick him up .then they call her to come and pick him up. she said no. and told her they would put her in jail. he is seventeen and she sleep with her door lock.and there are six more childrens in the house.where can she get help?

DrFee :

Hello! Please remember that my response is for information only, we are not establishing a therapeutic relationship.

DrFee :

A good place to start might be for her to call Child Protective Services. Is she in Florida? Which county?

Customer:

I do not know the county that she live in .The city is titusville.fa.

DrFee :

OK --let me see if I can find the phone number for you

Customer:

ok .This is the only charge 29.00?

DrFee :

I believe she is in Brevard County. The phone number is XXXXX

DrFee :

Yes, that is the only charge --you do not need to pay more than once.

DrFee :

Let me give you the website too

DrFee :

http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/abuse-hotline

DrFee :

She could call, explain her situation and ask for advice. The reason that I am referring you to this particular department is because of the 6 minor children and the fact that he is a minor.

DrFee :

If you hang on for another few minutes, I will look at this website further and see if there is a more appropriate department or if this is her best option.

Customer:

ok I will hang on.

DrFee :

The only other thing I can find or that seems appropriate would be for her to call the Florida Domestic Violence hotline for advice.

DrFee :

http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/domestic-violence

Customer:

Ok.

DrFee :

Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-500-1119

DrFee :

I'm not completely sure which is the correct thing to do --given that he is a minor.

DrFee :

But --one of those departments should be able to make the right referral.

DrFee :

I suspect that it would result in the son "getting into the system"

DrFee :

where then there would be services and support.

Customer:

I hope this infor will help this family. thank you for your help.

DrFee :

I hope so too. It sounds scary and overwhelming for her. You are welcome. Can I answer anything else for you?

Customer:

I think I have what I need.

DrFee :

OK. Take good care and goodbye.
