I am sorry to hear about these problems in finding the best medication to treat your depression.

Certainly weight is a factor in determining proper dosage of anti-depressants.

As you should know Viibryd is a relatively knew (early 2011) antidepressant to the market and in my work with Board Certified Psychiatrists we have found the most complaints about this medication from patinents (who like you) have significant co-occurring gastrointestinal distress.

This is because the medication is metabolized through the G.I. tract and a has show to become a problem with symptoms presenting just as you have described in what you have written.

Kerry- I understand how frustrating this must be for you. I also understand your limits regarding getting more opinions etc and no call backs makes it work.
This switch does sound like the correct protocol and you shouldn't have too much /if any withdrawal from the Viibryd as you have only been on it a short time and will be starting the Lexapro.
People like you are survivors and one thing I would do is encourage you to get connected (online) with others who are dealing with these issues related to medication and Bariatric bypass. Getting the online support is tremendously helpful and will also give you ideas and approaches you may not have considered.
In today's Medical world the patient has to become the Expert so that they can advocate for the best care and treatment possible. The internet has provided the gateway for people like yourself to do this and many of my patients have found great support help in these areas.
