What does it mean when a person scores 125 on a matrix reasoning

This answer was rated:

What does it mean when a person scores 125 on a matrix reasoning test and only 85 on block design test? What limitations would this bring?
Matrix reasoning is non verbal, abstract problem solving. A high score indicates the ability to respond well to novel visual tasks. It is used in math problems solving and to a degree in spelling. Block design measures visiospacial and motor skills. A lower score indicates difficulty manipulating the blocks quickly and/or seeing how an object fits in a given space. A higher score benefits engineering, physics, math and science. Interestingly, people with Asperger's generally score higher than average on block design.

If I'm not as specific as you would like about limitation, it would help to know more about the situation you're considering, school, specific job, general activities.

Well I'm working towards my bs in finance and was considering something in financial modeling or actuarial work however after getting this info I am uncertain about that path now. I've always had a knack for pattern recognition which explains the 12x12,16x16 sudoku, working on cars, cryptograms, computers. As far as further detail on the testing

vocab-15 scaled score

general knowledge-10

matrix reasoning-15

block design-7

working memory-10

symbol search-9

Matrix reasoning would be more applicable to financial modeling and actuarial work than block design. An example of a job with a high reliance on block design skills is flying a fighter jet.

Well that explains why I'll never be a race car driver. So in your professional opinion is 125 high enough to achieve those goals without going completely gray?

I don't see any reason why not.
