i always overeact and make myself look silly. My cant i learn to keep quiet and think about it first. i hate the feeling of gilt after and that i always let myself down

An anger management course would probably be very helpful for you. If you are not physically violent you may need to find a program for non-violent persons. Also consultation/counseling with a Psychologist may be helpful for you as well. Many people have been successful learning to manage these impulses but it usually requires outside help.
