VerifiedIt sounds like you know you are very unhappy. That's apparent. But a separation may allow you to sort out what you want. What you do with the children are between you and your husband. You could consult a lawyer regarding that. Raising children is hard and you are going to have to work this out. A divorce is going to be very difficult so you have to be ready for that. Your divorced friends may have less responsibility. Your children are very young. You aren't going to have all this time but instead be a single parent of your children. You will have less time alone. If the divorce is really about your happiness you should go with your instinct. No one wants to be in a unhappy marriage. You have to decide if marriage counseling may help or you just want out. If he is emotionally unavailable then counseling could address that but if you just don't love him anymore then it can't fix that. Discuss with your husband counseling or a separation. Maybe he doesn't know that he is not communicating with you his emotions. You in the end want to be happy. If that means alone or with someone else then that is what this means. You know what you want and it's your job to execute this.
