My memory is very unstable. If a memory comes into my head

Customer Question

My memory is very unstable. If a memory comes into my head and I focus on it for too long it starts morphing into all sorts of weird shapes. Why is this happening?

Years ago I used to practice meditation every night before I went to bed. I used to empty my mind of all thoughts and memories. One night after after doing this meditation I went to sleep. I woke up half an hour later and found that something had gone wrong with my memories. They had become very unstable and shaky and they would change shape like they where made of liquid. I suppress most of my memories now because I find this so disturbing. This constant suppression gives me tension headaches and fatigue but I don't see what the alternative is. No drug that any psychiatrist has given me has ever put my memories right.
