i have recently been diagnosted with BPD and currently in treatment, but a few days ago i experienced my first earthquake and i havent been able to shake this feeling of doom and last night i had a horrible night. i couldnt sleep, everything seemed like a dream and like i was going thru the quake all over again all night, and now its 4 in the evening and i still feel helpless and im constantly having what feels like panic attacks, what i want to kno is, should i go to the hospital and seek treatmen because my current doc is on leave and i havent been able to speak with her.

Good Morning,

You would want to connect with a therapist who treats acute stress disorder to help you with the most recent symptoms that you're experiencing after the earth quake. Going to the hospital (if you're wondering about hospitalization) will not necessarily result i being hospitalized unless there is imminent danger to self or another evident.

You would benefit from the therapy and while your doc is away you could at least have someone assist you.

If you need medication only for sleep/anxiety any doc can prescribe it. There is also over the counter options like Magnesium, L-Trytophan and Gaba to new a few.
