Hi, What is the best way of discussing/advising a lady 30yrs of age, 7st.12lbs, 5'5" approx, very slim/thin, has ceased menstruation after coming off the contraceptive pill in August, planning to become pregnant.
She is a professional person, teaching philosophy, I am providing reflexology treatments to help stimulate/balance her endocrine/bodily systems.
My client has a consultant appointment soon, but is keen to try this natural therapy to help kick-start her periods.
I have discussed eating a varied diet and eating regular meals, she is vegetarian, takes a general vitamin supplement.
I am sure she realises her weight problem and is positive regarding my treatments. I mention her weight each time and the doctor has not given her a target weight.

Ceasing menstruation may be temporary, but could be a body weight issue. Vegatarians need to be very careful about balancing proteins, not just getting enough. I don't have one handy, but a height / weight chart should be easy to find as is would be a Body Mass Indicator chart.
I think you need to explain that having too little body fat is dangerous. It can prevent her from getting pregnant and potentially harm fetus. Fats help produce hormones. If those facts are unmotivating, you have a tough task.
Can't stimulate endocrine system if the proper building blocks are not present.

Thank you for your comments. I have mentioned eating enough protein, I think I have a problem in that she is not willing to discuss her weight problem.

You have helped clarify the need to emphasise the facts.
