Kindly answer a few questions .
1) what is the age of your son and when did all these present features start to come to notice ?
2) is he aggressive , violent to others and animals and destructive , is he defiant , shows lack of respect for elders and seniors and often misbehaves ?
3) how is he in his studies , has he got poor concentration , and focus , easily distractable , poor grades in school and lagging behind his peers , ofetn gets punished at school ?
4) does he have lot of friends or is he a loner , or has his behaviour caused him to loos friends ?
5) do you think he is hyperactive , shows extreme degree of self confidence and thinks himself as superior to others , and wants everyone to look upto him ? Does he have social disinhibitions also such as swearing at people in public domain , or disrobing in front of strangers ?
Kindly answer the queries against their numbers and help me to come to a probable diagnosis .

VerifiedThere are at least 6 subtypes of ADD/ADHD. Please look at the book Healing ADD the Breakthrough Program That Allows You to See and Heal the 6Types of ADD. This will give you a good idea why, based on brain imaging studies and research, stimulants make the majority of ADD kids better but aggravate symptoms of irritability, depression or anxiety in others.
While the core symptoms of ADD (inattention, disorganization and impulsivity) are common to all types, if your son has hot spots in other areas of his brain that predict a potential for problems (temporal lobes=irritability, basal ganglia=anxiety, and so forth) these will need to be stabilized first. Otherwise, stimulants will aggravate those very symptoms by increasing metabolism not only where you want that effect (prefrontal cortex and frontal lobes which control focus and impulse control) but also in the problem areas.

Well, what i meant to say was that get him evaluated by a psychiatrist who will carry out a detailed clinical interview by taking history and performing mental state examination , and based on the clinical findings of interview , he will be able to come to a diagnosis .
No scan is required or indicated.. Just get the clinical evaluation done by a psychiatrist for conduct disorder.
