Hi,

Do you mean 750 mg? Going from 900mg to 75mg is a rather steep drop.

Thanks,

Dr. Debra

75 mg because i don't want thyroid problem. or at dosage would be ok ? i am aware of the 900 mg blood level... after a week thyroid difficulty. what would be appropiate?

Hi,   Different patients have different levels of sensitivity to lithium treatment. Most patients at therapeutic levels of lithium do not have thyroid problems. But there are exceptions. For example, if one is iodine deficient, the thyroid will be more sensitive to the effects of lithium and dietary goitrogens.    I don't know who recommended a dosage of 75mg for you, but this dosage should drastically reduce the chance of any thyroid problems. It also may be too low to see a therapeutic benefit.    Thanks,   Dr. Debra
