Hi there,

             Welcome to Just Answer !

Well, first of all i must commend you for your strong will power and stopping marijuana abuse , it is indeed a courageous act and shows lot of character .

Now, as far as your concern about relapse of Panic Attack after stopping marijuana is there, i would say that Marijuana for sure is a Triggering agent for Panic attack , and in your case it was probably the reason for the Panic attack , bUT , having said that , occurence of panic atack can occur on its own also , without any any triggers or precipitating factors involved , so although chances are good for you to not to have panic attack again , as you have stopped taking the triggering agent-- marijuana , but one cannot totally predict whether a panic attack will occur again or not.

But, please do not worry as things are on your side , so in order to prevent the attack again i would recommend the following measures--

1) Please maintain abstinence from Marijuana ,as it is a triggering agent for Panic Attack.

2) Continue on Xanax ( alprazolam) 0.25 mg , whiich is a good anti anxiety drug , works well in panic attack .

3) One plus point in your case which makes you less predisposed to another panic attack is that , you have been maintained on a low dose of xanax , and have not shown relapse of any panic symptoms , plus you have stopped taking the precipitaing factor -- marijuana , so all these things count a lot , and offer good prognosis.

So, please follow what i have discussed here , you may discuss it with your doctor as well , about this conversation.

I am sending a link below which will throw more light on panic disorder and the triggering agents .

I wish you best of health.

I hope my answer serves your query according to your satisfaction.

Please press the ACCEPT button if you are satisfied with the answer , as only then i will be credited for my service.

Warm Regards...
