Customer Question
Hi I got a...

Hi I got a c15 acert msx and my water cooling temp runs around 180-190 and pulling hills 200 and my oil temp stays at 225-250 and I pulled my oil cooler to see if wasn’t dirty or anything but it’s still the same oil temp why do you think it’s like that? I pulled my valve covers off and checked for any leaks and it was all good

Mechanic's Assistant: What's the make/model/year of your truck? Engine type?

C15 cat acert msx 2006 Kenworth

Mechanic's Assistant: Is there anything else the Truck Mechanic should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

No everything runs good except the oil temp and my oil pressure runs about 60-65 pounds

I think I would start by verifying the engine oil temperature to make sure the sending unit is good.

You may have a thermostat, radiator or water pump issue. You can do some testing with a inferred thermometer. Check both sides of the thermostats, there may be one sticking. Check the flow through the radiator, both air and water. Make sure nothing is restricting air flow. The water pump may have a worn impeller which is hard to verify without removal, but with the thermostats open you should see circulation in the tank.

I hope this information helps, please let me know if you need anything further. Thanks for choosing Just Answer!
