2009 Peterbilt 387 engine fan turns on for a short time and turns off when driving in weather.The water temperature is at 180 and its cool outside.

Engine fan runs while driving down the road. Engine water temperature is at 180 fan kicks on for short periods of time and turns off while driving. This happens often.

Hi,

Thank you for the response.

The fan gets the signal from the ECM, I would suggest replacing the coolant sensor.

Where will I locate the cooling sensor on a 2009 peterbilt 387.I located the cooling sensor. This will cause the fan to turn on if even if it's cold outside?
