I have an 08 International DT466 with dpf no urea. It has dpf ash loading of 6553%. DPF SOOT 3% what is that telling me on the ash at that high of a number.

If the ash content is reading that high it means the dpf needs to be cleaned and have the dpf install procedure performed. This is performed by changing the dpf parameter in parameter programming then this number will reset. I hope this helps with your question. Thank you

The soot is only 3 %. I thought soot needed to be high. Help me understand please.

The ash is a byproduct of soot. So the ash content will continue to rise until the dpf is cleaned and reset. The soot level only tells the soot content and the ash content tells the overall health of the filter.

OK Thank You, ***** ***** the ash numbers I should be looking for?
This truck when driving will be running ok, but then the light comes on and even has shut down. It is 08 dt466 maxxforce. But it keeps getting a code active when this happens SPN:1442 FMI:2 CODE 2242 ICP adaption in range fault. Could this DPF cause this?maybe from shutting down. I have replace the ICP sensor. The actual and desired are in range ICP. The regulator is at 6.67 desired 7.88, diff pressure .04 psi. The computer says regeneration not required? Exhaust temp 1 233, 226, 3 140 deg fahrenheit. Please advise.

The computer uses only the soot level to judge if it needs a regen. The differential pressure can be low and still be plugged. The icp fault can be caused by a number is ***** but if the icp pressure is not dropping out it probably does not have an issue with that system. The pressure will drop down if the engine lugs out.

It did and stalled. I would think the ash load would read in some place. I am going to try a force regen. You think that is good. or needs replaced.

A regen only turns the soot into ash. The only way to remove the ash is to clean the dpf

I took off DOC I can see light strait through. Regen not hot enough what else could cause the temperature not to rise?dpf soot on top dirty but I can see the holes still
