Customer: I have a cat engine 3126b SN# ***** AR#(###) ###-####CODE 190 FMI 11 PRIMARY ENGINE SPEED,CODE 164 FMI 11 INJECTION ACTUATION PRESSURE SYSTEM FAULT,CODE 164 FMI 4 INJECTION ACUATION PRESSURE VOLTAGE HIGH WE HAVE REPLACED BOTH ENGINE SPEED SENSORS AND ICP REGULATOR TRUCK SHUTS OFF FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AFTER RUNNING LONG ENOUGH TO GET HOT GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 65MPH IT WILL COME BACK ITSELF WHEN IT FIRST STARTS THEN GETS WORSE YOU CAN PULL OVER AND LET IT SET FOR 30 SECONDS AND IT WILL RUN BUT GETS WORSE ALL THE TIME I'M THINKING MAY BE WIRING HARNESS OR ICP PRESSURE SENSOR BUT I NEVER LOSE READING ON ICP WHILE WATCHING LAPTOP WHILE DOING IT ENGINE IS IN 2000 STERLING AND SEEMS TO DO IT WORSE AT 65MPH AND THE HOTTER IT GETS.

REPLACED SPEED SENSORS CODE 190 CAME RIGHT BACK ALL THRE CODES I GAVE YOU POP UP AT SAME TIME.

If the 190 comes back and the sensors have been replaced. I suspect either a problem in the engine harness. Or the gear on the cam the sensor reads is loose and walking off.Code 164-11 (39) is defined as an Injection Actuation Pressure System fault. I see this a lot on these engines. This code indicates the ECM is not seeing the correct Injection Actuation Pressure. This code and problem is caused by several things.The first and most common is a faulty Injection Actuation Pressure Control Valve. Also known as an IAPCV. It has two wires connected to it and is screwed into the High pressure HEUI pump.
Second is a Faulty HEUI pump. To test a high pressure 5000 psi gauge is needed to connect to the outlet of the HEUI pump.
Third is a faulty IAP sensor
And lastly is a leaking injector.Please reply back if you need more help or have more questions. I am happy to assist.
