Customer: I have a ht570. It cranks good in the morning and after it gets warm it’s hard to start. I have teed into the oil line coming from the pump and I can crank on it for about 10-15 seconds and not build over 400 psi. I have changed the injector adapter tube o-rings and I am having the same problems. What am I missing or need to check?

Hi there . My name is ***** ***** Have you checked the IPR valve connector for damage ? Also , have you pull the ipr valve out and check the screen on the end of it for signs of damage ?

Customer
the screen was damaged and I replaced the ipr valve. No change in starting routine

Ok ... thanks for the info . What year and model of truck is this in ?

These are spn numbers ... I also need the FMI numbers please

164 is for injection control pressure . Without the FMI number , I cannot tell you more .

Customer
Engine cranks good when cold and has a hard time starting when hot. I checked the hpop and pressurized to 5000psi. There is a lot of oil coming out around the top of two injectors.Pid 171

Customer
Fmi3 also just came up on 164

Thanks for the info . 164-3 and 164-4 are related to the ICP sensor . I recommend replacing the sensor and reseal the high pressure oil rail . If the valve cover pass through harness looks ok , it can be re-used . Also check the connection at the pass through for the icp sensor . It is the three wire connector between the number 5 and 6 injectors . Make sure it is in good condition as well .

Checking on 171-3 now

Customer
Ok. I already resealed the injector adapters I know there are two more o rings in the puck itself. Should I replace those? What are the chances of having an injector cracked at the top?

171-3 is a sensor or circuit fault for the inlet air temperature sensor . This sensor is mounted on the air filter housing . It is a 2 wire sensor . I would check the connection to this sensor . If connection and wiring looks fine , then I would replace sensor .

Customer
Ok.

They are supposed to leak a little at each injector . This is normal as it is bleeding off excess at the injector port .

If they are leaking huge at 2 injectors , then I would remove and inspect the top of the injectors at the ports . Blow them clean and inspect for excessive grooving going on in the port where the seal would sit . If heavily grooved out , you may need to replace those injectors. Compare all ports on all six injectors

Customer
Ok. Give me some time and I will get back with you

Please take the time to rate my service to you so that the site rewards me for my efforts in helping you . Otherwise , I receive nothing for my efforts . Thank you
