2003 Chevy c5500 vin: 1F66F5KY0D0A05782The truck had about 2 gallons of oil/fuel come out of the bell housing. the old fuel filter had lots of crud in itREPLACED
all 8 injectors (non-oem)
return line seals and return line bolts, FICM seals (all OEM)
fuel filterNOT REPLACED
coolant seal
injector linesThe truck will crank, after priming, but will shut off 2-4 seconds later.
I have pressurized the fuel tank and bled the fuel filter housing to get fuel coming out of the fuel filter housing bleed valve. The truck will die regardless of priming while cranking. The longest runtime happens when both the fuel tank is pressurized and I hand pumped the filter housing.
The filter housing doesn't appear to get stiff ever (but i also don't know how hard it could get), no matter how long I pump.
I have cracked the injector lines to get fuel out of them, sometimes bubbles, sometimes not (only one from each side due to clearance.I'm familiar with the Ford/International, Cat, and Dodge/Cummins diesels, but not so much on the Chevy/Isuzu.How do I diagnose this problem?

I can pressurize with tools I have. Not sure If I can pull a vacuum (don't have the tool(s).I know there are procedures for checking crank fuel usage, but I can't find detailed ones.I don't know which fuel lines are inlet/outlet either, as OEM diagrams are different than this custom chasis. Fuel filter housing is on driver side. Fuel tank is behind cab.

Ok and if you pressurize at the fuel tank with slight pressure , do you see any lines getting wet anywhere ? Or possibly the tip of the tank by sending unit. ? This would indicate that you are sucking air into the fuel system . That would be why the primer does not seem to be getting hard .

No wet lines externally except when cracking them

Have you perhaps tried drawing fuel from a 5 gallon pail with an alternative fuel line connected to the fuel inlet of the filter housing ? This would rule out the fuel tank and lines as the problem .

If it starts abd runs fine that way , then the problem is in the lines or tank drawing air into the system .
